Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh raised a number of issues at the banking industry’s digital transformation event on August 4 because, in his opinion, this is one of the sectors that has enough convergence in its characteristics to lead digital transformation.
The Prime Minister asked the State Bank to keep funding shared infrastructure projects including payment and credit information infrastructure in order to operate as a hub and meet development demands.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security continues to work closely with the State Bank, other ministries, and industry sectors to share and integrate the national population database and specialized databases in order to gradually develop an information and technology population ecology system.
According to Nguyen Manh Hung, minister of information and communications, the banking sector is leading the way in the application of information technology due to both the objective cause of the pressure from international integration and the subjective cause of the strong entry into the country power of the bank leaders.
